Another Decorating Shout Out

I hate the ‘artwork’ that demands we feel a certain way

“We’re a young married couple that met at our party-school college. We don’t actually read much, so we fill our bookshelves with pictures and tchochkees from our travels. Most of our furniture has been hand-me downs from our parents, but we recently sprung for these sofas in an attempt to feel grown up. The word art reminds us to feel a certain way: otherwise we might realize that all our young lives have been spent rushing around meeting external expectations rather than slowing down and loving who we are at this moment.”
