WIP Wednesday- Elephants of Course!

20 Jul

So, it’s day two of the Great Yarn De-stash! I’m trying my had at a bit of modification on my next project. I took the general pattern of the Sheep Yoke Baby Cardigan and re-designed the center band of critters. This time, I added marching elephants, of course! Take a look:

Homage to Bellyphant

This sweater uses a bit of the Berroco Ultra Light Alpaca (light grey) and some unknown dark gray wool in a heavy DK weight. The bright yellow accents are in Berroco Comfort DK and is gender-neutral so can be used for a boy or a girl.

I’m using a US 6 needle, so the sweater is a bit bigger than the Sheep Yoke cardigan. I’m also adding a few unexpected whimsical details that I’ll show off when it’s completed.

Thanks for stopping by!

I am amazed at this beautiful knitting, and even modifying the patterns! The woolly sheep pattern was totally adorable, too.

Robin, I just saw your WIP wednesday post on the Sheepish forum (I know, I’m behind…). Loving this week’s marching elephants. Just thought I’d let you know about the WIP Wednesday thread on the Stash Knit Down forum: http://www.ravelry.com/discuss/stash-knit-down/821295

Also, sounds like it goes along with your current challenge.
