Blue Tomato

12 Apr

I just finished my second attempt of knitting myself some clothing- and I definitely consider this a check in the win column. Meet my new sweater, Tomato:

It’s a free pattern called “Tomato” from KnittingDaily.com. Here’s the official pattern picture, so you can understand the name for the pattern:

I love this pattern- it’s knitted in the round and in one piece- so no sewing. Yay! I chose the Classic Elite Seedling yarn in Glacier and the houndstooth pattern in Natural. I made a bit of a calculation error- I bought the correct amount of skeins, but failed to notice that the original yarn has skeins of 150 yards, but the yarn I bought have 110 yards. So, it’s a little bit short in the waist, and the sleeves are a bit shorter than I would have wanted. But overall I’m very pleased with myself.

So now in time for the perfect spring weather, I have a cheerful and, dare I say, perfect sweater! So…. what’s next?

Thanks for stopping by!

The sweater is beautiful. You are really a talented knitter, figuuring out all the stitches, working with two colors at the same time, and making it fit, too! I can’t wait ti see it on you!

Honestly that is a beautiful sweater. I can’t imagine even attempting such a thing.
